About
Dr. Nabeel Al-Khatib is a Palestinian broadcast journalist, media executive and academic, and President of SRMG News — the consolidated network of the Saudi Research and Media Group (SRMG) uniting Asharq Al-Awsat, Arab News, Independent Arabia and its sister editions, Al Majalla, Urdu News, Akhbaar24 and the Asharq Network under one leadership structure. He is also the founding General Manager of Asharq News, the Arabic-language multiplatform network launched in partnership with Bloomberg. Born in Palestine in 1962, he holds a Ph.D. in Mass Communication and Media Studies, earned in the former Soviet Union after studying journalism in Minsk, Belarus, during the 1980s.
Before Asharq, he served as General Manager of Al Arabiya and Al Hadath, Executive Editor of Al Arabiya, and bureau chief of MBC News in Jerusalem, reporting extensively on Palestinian affairs. He is also the founder of the journalism school and Media Institute at Birzeit University in the West Bank, and has taught at the Jordan Media Institute and the American University in Dubai.

Launched on 11 November 2020 as a 24-hour multiplatform Arabic-language news network owned by the Saudi Research and Media Group (SRMG), assembling a newsroom of journalists from over 40 nationalities across Riyadh, Dubai, Washington, Cairo and Abu Dhabi.
Oversees the exclusive content agreement between SRMG and Bloomberg, giving Asharq's audiences access to a combined pool of more than 2,700 journalists and financial analysts worldwide, plus an Arabic edition of Bloomberg Businessweek.
Led two of the region's leading broadcast networks after years as Executive Editor of Al Arabiya and bureau chief of MBC News in Jerusalem, building on a track record of rigorous, on-the-ground coverage of Palestinian and regional affairs.
Founded the journalism program and Media Institute at Birzeit University in the West Bank, chairing the department of mass communications and later teaching at the Jordan Media Institute and the American University in Dubai — training the next generation of Arab journalists.
